Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Dancer Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16760669), whose registered office is at 2 Harsh Drive, York, YO42 2UG (“we”). They cover attente.app, buying an Attente licence, Attente Plus and extra readings, and using the app.

If you're buying for a team, a school or another organisation, write to hello@attente.app and we'll arrange the right licences.

An Attente licence costs $79, paid once. It lets you, personally, use Attente on every computer you write on, on macOS, Windows, Linux and the web. A licence is for one person: please don't share or resell it.

It includes 12 months of updates from the release of version 1.0. After that, the version you have keeps working for as long as you like, and you can buy an upgrade to later versions at a lower price than a new licence.

Everything you write in Attente is yours. We claim no rights in it, and you can export it as plain text at any time.

You can use Attente free for 7 days before you buy. No payment details are needed for the trial.

Attente is in beta. It is complete enough to write in, but it will change, and it may have faults. Your work is stored on your own computer: please keep backups, as you would of anything important. A licence bought during the beta includes version 1.0.

Every new licence includes one month of Attente Plus. Nothing is charged when it ends: you choose whether to keep it.

If you keep it, Attente Plus is a subscription at $9 a month or $90 a year, billed in advance, which renews until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt; it then runs to the end of the period you've paid for. It includes 5,000 hosted readings each month; the app shows what a reading will use before it runs, and a month's unused readings don't carry over.

Extra readings bought separately are used after a month's included readings, carry over from month to month and don't expire.

We may change the price of Attente Plus or its allowance, but never during a period you've already paid for, and we'll tell you at least 30 days before a change applies to you.

Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.

If Attente isn't right for you, you can have a full refund of your licence within 30 days of buying it, with no questions asked. Write to hello@attente.app. Unused extra readings can also be refunded within 30 days. Subscriptions to Attente Plus aren't refunded for part of a period, but you can cancel at any time.

These refunds are on top of your rights as a consumer, which nothing in these terms takes away. When you start using Attente straight after buying it, you agree that it begins at once, which ends the statutory 14-day right to cancel digital content; our 30-day refund still applies.

Please don't misuse Attente or this site: no attempts to disrupt them, reach parts of them you're not meant to, or get around the limits on readings, and nothing unlawful. We may suspend hosted readings for an account that does.

The app, this site, its text, images, logo and design belong to us or our licensors. The images on this site are screens of the Attente app. Other products named on our comparison pages belong to their owners and are named only to describe them; we aren't affiliated with or endorsed by them.

If we break these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that, but not for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable. As Attente stores your work on your own computer, we aren't responsible for losing it where keeping a backup would have prevented the loss.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. If you use Attente for business, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the European Union, you keep the protection of the laws where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top, and tell customers by email before a change that affects them takes effect.
